The Yorkshire Party Company was established by owners Belinda and Terry Williams in 1996, realising a lifelong dream to bring their global culinary experiences from Europe, Asia, Australia and the Caribbean to the finest events and chosen venues in the North of England.

Natalie Moore and Executive Chef husband Ben have headed up the Yorkshire Party Company (Events) team since 2016, bringing contemporary fresh ideas onto a foundation of core Yorkshire Party values and principals, embracing new ideas, to make your celebration unique.

Nationally recognised as the North’s premiere catering company, the business has steadily grown from a purpose-built base in Ripon, North Yorkshire, to become the chosen partner for discerning weddings, private parties and family celebrations within the region and beyond. Whether catering for 8 or 800, Yorkshire Party are renowned for stunning food served by professional staff. 

Our Philosophy

All our dishes are created by Ben and his in-house team, using the finest local produce Yorkshire has to offer. We take a bespoke approach to our menu creation and work closely with a number of trusted suppliers to ensure we know the origin of all of the ingredients we use.

Our friendly, knowledgeable team will guide you every step of the way, to ensure your celebration exceeds all expectations. With nearly one hundred collective staff years’ experience across thousands of successful events, we will only promise what we are confident we can deliver to the highest of standards.

Sous Chef/Senior Sous Chef

As one of the North’s premier outside catering companies with a busy year ahead of us, we are looking to expand our team and we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Sous Chef/Senior Sous Chef to join our team. Yorkshire Party Company Events provide a range of catering to private clients across Yorkshire and beyond, from marquee weddings to chefs table dinner parties and everything in between. Our bespoke approach to menu planning means every menu is personally tailored to the client’s tastes, so each event provides new and exciting culinary challenges for our chefs.

This position within our kitchen team would support the Head Chef and Executive Chef in running the kitchen and would suit an individual with experience in a high-end restaurant, or a military catering background, looking to move up from Sous Chef. Or an individual who already has had good experience in outside catering or banquet service looking to move to a higher level within the kitchen team. The business offers more of a work-life balance than a restaurant kitchen, as food preparation is carried out during the week at our purpose-built base just outside Ripon, with weekday evenings off.

Our events are predominantly delivered on Saturdays, but we do have a number of weekday evening and Sunday events during the year. Event catering experience is not essential as full event training will be given.

Due to the seasonality of the business, a flexible approach is essential, to meet the demands of the business, with spring and summer being our busiest seasons. Hours of work are averaged out over a full year. The candidate must have a full UK driving license.

The ideal candidate will have:

*A minimum of 3 years experience working as a Sous Chef.

*Experience in larger volume food preparation.

*Previous experience working in an outside catering setting (although this is not essential as full training for delivering events will be given).

*Good communication skills and work well as part of a team.

*Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

*Full UK Driving license.

*Good experience in all areas of the kitchen.

Job duties:

  • Work as part of the chef team delivering events at external venues.

  • Food preparation support to the main kitchen team.

  • Working alongside the Executive and Head Chefs to learn and adapt quickly whilst learning and to help with input into new dishes/menu ideas

  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications to clients brief.

  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards.

  • Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment.

  • Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards, including working within our bespoke HACCP plan.

Salary: £28,000.00 to £32,000.00 per annum based on experience.
